Samye Gompa - Tibet, China

Samye Gompa, Samye Monastery, the oldest monastery in Tibet and one of the most important historical sites of the Yarlung Valley of the Kings. A circular wall that surrounds the monastery contains 108 chorten large. The Samye Monastery was strictly based on Buddhist principles of the universe and India Temple Of Odantapuri was designed as a model. The main temple of the monastery in the center symbolizing the mythical Mount Meru, the four stamps, each of which is surroundedis located in one of four directions. The introduction of Buddhist monastic culture and the decline of Bon belief with their demonic beliefs, Tibetan society was a new structure. Despite his advanced age and dramatic history, Samye Monastery is still one of the most beautiful and unique religious shrines in Tibet.
